All about Antique : AntiqueTractors

Antique steam-powered tractors, and those run by internal combustion engines have become increasingly popular. Enthusiasists now restoring and studying the history of the old farm tractor similar to the attention spent on antique cars. In the late nineteenth century, farm tractors such as those manufactured by the JI Case company, was powered by steam engines. Early steam tractors pulled plows and threshing machines and could be related to the thresher with straps in power. They also invited because locomotives were steam-powered machines that do not run on rails. These large, bulky machines with tank and boiler and the huge metal wheels, often too heavy to ride over soft ground, was burdensome.




The advent of the internal combustion engine attracted many companies trying to build a successful gasoline-powered tractors. In 1892, John Froelich (1849-1933) arguably invented the first gasoline tractor. John Deere, plow a successful designer looking for a reliable internal combustion tractor to enter the area, bought the Froelick Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Company.Early Agriculture
Tractors have always been important around the farm. In 1831 Cyrus McCormick (1809-1884), invented the mechanical reaper or wheat, but cut like a scythe pulled by a horse. Binder later discovered that the stems are bound in bundles or sheaves.
Threshing machines separated the wheat from the stems and bark, but the invention of the harvester now made the threshing and reaping. In the early days of internal combustion tractors, there were hundreds of companies, many of which failed. These tractors, along with steam machinery, it is very interesting.

Jerome Increase Case (1819-1891) was an early construction of steam-powered tractors. His company, the JI Case Company, which later produced the internal combustion tractor.
